Maternal acceptance-rejection, parenting stress and mother¡¯s perceived childhood treatment : Focused on moderating effects of mother¡¯s perceived childhood treatment

Abstract
This study investigated moderating effects of mother¡¯s perceived childhood treatment on the relationships between maternal acceptance-rejection and parenting stress. Participants were 264 mothers, each having children aged three to six(139 boys and 125 girls). For analyses of research questions, frequencies, Pearson correlations, simple regression and hierarchical regression were used. Results of this study indicated that (1) parenting stress influenced on maternal acceptance-rejection, (2) mother¡¯s perceived childhood acceptance treatment influenced on maternal acceptance-rejection, (3) The moderating effects of mother¡¯s perceived childhood treatment on the relationships between maternal acceptance-rejection and parenting stress was statistically nonsignificant.
